George D. Price Sr., age 84, of Wrightstown, NJ passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, July 21 st , 2016. George was born and grew up in the Pocono Mountains before joining the United States Army where he served for over 20 years retiring as Sargent First Class (SFC). After retiring from the Army, he joined the ranks of Correction Officers at the NJ Reformatory, Bordentown, where he remained employed for over 20 years. George continued to serve his local community in various volunteer positions after his retirement from the Reformatory. George worked hard to provide for his family, he enjoyed cars, hunting and serving his country. George was predeceased by his parents Lafayette and Nettie (Belcher) Price, brothers Glenn, Edward, Keith and sister Barbara. George is survived by his wife Doris (Staudenmeir) Price, daughter Donna (John) Artigliere of Forked River, NJ, and his son George Jr (Karen) Price of Brick, NJ. Also surviving are his granddaughters Michele and Heidi, his great-grandchildren Dana, Nicolas, Alexa and Angelina, brother James Price and sisters Thelma (Henry) Balmoos, Beverly (Gus) Levanduski, and Cindy Price(Carl), along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. A receiving of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 27 th , 2016 from 10:00am- 11:30am at Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main St, New Egypt NJ 08533 (Tilghmanfh.com). A memorial service presented by Rev. Keith Price (nephew) will take place beginning at 11:30am. Interment will be held at Brig. General Wm C Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Veterans organization of your choice.
