Donald E. Hendrickson, age 80, of New Egypt passed away on July 9, 2016. He was the son of the Enoch J. and Nellie A. Hendrickson and was a lifelong resident of New Egypt. Donald was retired from the NJ Department of Transportation and also the US Navy Reserves Construction Battalion Seabees. Donald loved training his German Shorthaired Pointers and enjoyed traveling around the country with his wife. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed. Donald is predeceased by his parents and by his two sisters, and Dorothy Newell and Ruth Garnier Chirico. He leaves behind his adored wife of 58 years, Betty Hendrickson (Greer); his son Rick Hendrickson and wife Mary of Jacobstown; his daughter Donna Wharton and husband Rick of New Egypt; 3 grandchildren Craig, Stephanie and husband Justin, and Stacey; and 2 great-grandchildren, Savannah and Olivia. Services for Donald are being held privately and are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main St., New Egypt NJ 08533 (tilghmanfh.com).
