James M. Puvel, age 88, of Wrightstown passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, April 29, 2016 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. James was born in Salamanca NY to the late Carl and Helen Puvel. He served in the United States Army during WWII. James retired as a maintenance mechanic in 1990 from what is now Dow Chemical Co. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed. James is predeceased by his parents, his adored wife Elvera, and his 2 sisters Helen Woodard and Suzanne Dudley. He leaves behind his son Jim Puvel and wife Ellie of Bordentown; his 2 daughters Pat Brecka of Wrightstown and Darlene Wolverton and husband Glenn of Wrightstown; a sister, Rosemary Goodrich of St. Augustine, FL; 9 grandchildren, Erik Brecka, Matthew Brecka, Maureen Tornetta, Patrick Wolverton, Wayne Wolverton, James Puvel, Jennifer Ulrich, Joshua Puvel and Justina Rajeski; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 6PM-9PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main St., New Egypt NJ 08533 (www.TilghmanFH.com). A funeral mass will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Church of the Assumption Chapel, 76 Evergreen Rd., New Egypt NJ 08533, with interment to follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in James’ memory to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 (www.alz.org/donate).
