Issac R. “Ike” Hooey, Sr., age 82, of Browns Mills passed away Thursday, October 1 at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills. Born in Broudville, NJ, he was a resident of Browns Mills for the past 35 years and formerly lived in Columbus, NJ. Ike had worked as a truck driver for Greenberg Farms in Vincentown. He also enjoyed painting. Ike was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Hooey in 1994. He is survived by a son, Isaac Hooey, Jr. of New Egypt; a daughter, Brenda Lee Hooey and husband Ron Laviolette of Wrightstown; his companion, Pat Decker of Browns Mills; a brother, Ted Wheeler of Florida; a granddaughter, Cheryl Hagens-Brandl and husband David of Delaware; three great grandchildren; close friends, Ed and Joyce Ann Palfy and family of Browns Mills and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Ike will be held on Saturday, October 10 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in Zion Cemetery in New Egypt. Calling hours will be on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
