W. Edward ?Ed? Van Horn, age 93, of Bordentown died Friday, May 11 at Care One in Hamilton Township. Born in New Egypt, Ed was a lifetime area resident before moving to Bordentown to live with his daughter 7 years ago. Ed was a retired custodian with the East Windsor School District. He also worked at the Philadelphia Navy Yard during WWII, he was the local milk man and owned a grocery store in New Egypt for many years, and also had owned a marina in Beach Haven. Ed was a Life Member of the New Egypt Vol. Fire Co., a 60 year member of the New Egypt United Methodist Church, a 50 year Master Mason with the Pyramid Lodge #92 F. & A. M., and he was a member of the Hightstown TP8?s Camping Club. Husband of the late Dorothy Van Horn, Ed is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Thomas & Barbara Van Horn of Robbinsville; a daughter & son-in-law, Evelyn & Thomas Scudder of Bordentown; four grandchildren, Matthew Scudder & wife Mindy of Allentown, Amanda McElwain & husband Michael of Cookstown, and Christopher Van Horn and Kate Van Horn, both of Robbinsville; and three great grandchildren, Gabriel & Abigail Scudder and Audrey McElwain. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with Pastor Kim Wecht, officiating. Burial will follow in the Jacobstown Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
