Bertha I. (Durham) Austin, age 83, of Pemberton passed away Saturday, December 27 at the Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Center in Mt. Holly. Born in Earle, NJ, she was a resident of Pemberton for the past 55 years. Bertha was a self-employed house cleaner. She was a member of the American Legion Post 294 Auxiliary in Pemberton and was a Past President four times. Bertha was predeceased by her first husband, George A. Durham, Sr. and by two sons, George A. Durham, Jr. and Robert Wayne Durham. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Austin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Clair Durham of Vineland and Thomas and Cindy Durham of Mt. Laurel; two brothers, Raymond Ford of Florida and Howard Brown of Camden; sixteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Bertha will be held on Tuesday, December 30 at 12:00 Noon at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson. Calling hours will be on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until noon at the funeral home.
