Yvonne E. Nelson, 85, of Edgewater Park, NJ passed away on Thursday June 5, 2014 at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly. Born in Wilkensburg, PA, she lived in Rhode Island for most of her life, moving to Edgewater Park 5 years ago. Yvonne worked for the State of Rhode Island as an Employment Interviewer retiring in 1993. She served in US Navy during the Korean War, and was a Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. In recent years, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren; enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives and working crossword puzzles. Yvonne was predeceased by her daughter Kathy Cote in 2009. She survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Doyle of Edgewater Park and Patricia Luksha of Texas; her son William; her grandchildren Jason, Justin, Kimberly, Jacob, and Mikayla Lucksha; James Doyle, Kerry Arnold, Krisitin Grimm, Shannon Harper, Jordan Cote, and Jennifer Walason; and 13 great grandchildren. As per Yvonne’s request, funeral services and interment are private at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt (tilghmanfh.com).
