Augustus ?Gus? Freeman of Wrightstown, died Tuesday, January 16 at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly with his family by his side. Born in Greenville, Mississippi, Gus had been a resident of Wrightstown for the past 33 years. He was a retired Sergeant First Class with the US Army having served during WWII, the Korean War and the Viet Nam War. After his military career, Gus had worked in the commissary at McGuire AFB and also drove a limo for Salem Transportation in Wrightstown for many years and received many Safe Driver Awards. He was a member of VFW Post 6590 in Cookstown. Gus was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Monique (nee Autier) Freeman; two sons, Tommy Lee Freeman, Sr. of Wrightstown and Jimmy Lee Freeman & wife Nicole of Lafayette, OR; a daughter, Dyanna MacKall & husband Danny of Aloha, OR and six grandchildren, Derek, Dillon, Dana and Dacey MacKall and Tommy Lee Freeman, Jr. and Jamie Marie Freeman. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19 at 1:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com) with Rev. William Walker, officiating. Interment will follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Calling hours will be on Friday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
