John A. Taylor, age 50, of Clayton died Friday, December 29 in Washington Twp. Born in Neptune, he was a lifetime New Egypt area resident before moving to Clayton a year ago. John worked as a well driller for W.B. Drilling in Roosevelt. Son of the late James & Jean (Taylor) Poppe, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha & Harold Sander of Clayton and Jennifer & Frank Cookson of Bristol, PA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chester & Carol Poppe of New Egypt and Paul & Cheryl Poppe of Jacobstown; four grandchildren, Cori Cota, Christian & Kaelyn Sander and Jeanann Cookson; his great grandmother, Agnes Taylor of Somersworth, NH; his former wife, Debbie Fisher of Clayton and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6 at 6:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Calling hours will be on Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
