Obituary of Douglas R. Upchurch

Douglas R. Upchurch, age 55, of Lumberton died suddenly Friday, April 29 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly. Born at Fort Bragg, NC, he lived in the Lumberton/Mt. Holly area since 1970.
Doug was a 1973 graduate of Rancocas Valley Regional High School and served in the US Army from 1974 to 1977. He was currently employed as an Assistant Manager of Floors USA in Cherry Hill. Doug was an avid movie watcher, enjoyed gardening and swimming, but most of all loved to spend time with his family.
Doug was predeceased by a brother, Max Upchurch. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kate (nee Hurley) Upchurch; his two children, Morgan Upchurch of Hightstown and Nicholas Upchurch of Lumberton; his parents, Max and Anna Upchurch of Mt. Holly; a grandson, Jozef; two brothers, Jim Upchurch of Washington and Steve Upchurch of Cinnaminson, two sisters, Barbara Ball and husband Andrew of Mt. Holly and Sheila Upchurch also of Mt. Holly and five nephews, Jason Upchurch and John, Erick, Brian and Alex Barry.
A memorial service for Doug will be held on Tuesday, May 3 at 1:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Interment services will follow at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
