Hildegard Ernestina Preston, age 81, of Ventnor and formerly of Wrightstown, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, July 16. She was born on May 9, 1929 in Traben-Trarbach, Germany. Hilde was a kind and generous woman and had an especially soft spot in her heart for children and the elderly. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by so many. Hilde was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Joseph Preston in 2007. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karin and Robert Trasferini of Ventnor, NJ; eight grandchildren, John Agger of Boise, ID, Helena Agger of Ventnor, Shannon Anaya of Boise, ID, Eva Mitchell of Egg Harbor, NJ and Dennis, Christopher, Aaron and Clifford Trasferini all of Ventnor and five great grandchildren, Angelo Sochocky, Joseph and Michael Agger, Nija Mitchell and Jon Johnson. Funeral services for Hilde will be held on Wednesday, July 21 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with Pastor Steve Wright officiating. Calling hours will be on Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
