John L. Southard of Jacobstown passed away on May 14, 2010 at his residence. He was 81. John was born in New Egypt, NJ and has been a longtime resident of Jacobstown. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the US ARMY. John retired after 38 years working for Local #825 as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed collecting all types of antiques, especially antique clocks and he enjoyed farming. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marguerite Southard (nee-Robbins); his son and daughter-in-law: John and Karen Southard; his daughter: Patricia Forsyth; his sister and brother-in-law: Donna Mae and Bill Reeder; his grandchildren and their spouses: David and Ashley Forsyth, Holly Presseau, John J. and Amy Southard, Michelle and Jeremy Littlefield, Wyatt Southard and Sean Southard; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday May 20th at 10AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main St., New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Relatives and Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday evening from 7-9PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Brig. General William C.
