John T. Cammerano, age 74, of Whiting passed away on Thursday, May 6 at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY to Joseph and Florence (Thomas) Cammerano, he was a Monmouth County resident moving to Cedar Glen Lakes in Whiting in 1994. John was a 1953 graduate of Keyport High School and was a veteran serving in the US Marine Corp from 1954-1957. He worked for Anaconda Copper in Perth Amboy before going to work for New Departure Hyatt, a division of General Motors, in Clark and retired in 1987. John was an active member of the Cedar Glen Lakes Golf Club and Garden Club, he was an avid fisherman, golfer and NASCAR fan and he enjoyed extensive travel throughout the United States. John is survived by his best friend, Fay Pullen of Cedar Glen Lakes; A son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Suzanne T. Cammerano of New Egypt; a daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne L. Cammerano and Peter Hess of Lambertville; two brothers, Joseph Cammerano of San Bernardino, CA and Robert Cammerano of Lakewood, NJ; three grandchildren, Cory Hess, Julia Hess and Emily Straniero and Fay?s family, Sherry and Carl Reynolds of New Egypt and their children, Heather Reynolds and Shawn Reynolds and granddaughter, Mackenzie. A memorial service for John will be held on Saturday, May 15 at 12:00 Noon at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with calling hours from 10:00 AM to Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.
