Nell F. McCall, age 82, of New Egypt died Monday, January 8 at her residence. Born in Mount Airy, NC, she had been a resident of New Egypt for the past 40 years. Nell was a very active supporter of the American Cancer Society. Wife of the late Robert V. McCall, Sr. and mother of the late Robert V. McCall, Jr., she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John & Rose McCall and Michael & Shari McCall all of New Egypt; three daughters and a son-in-law, Vivian & George Smith of Alexandria, VA and Donna McCall & Karen Johnson both of New Egypt; a step-son, Randy Hogan of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Betty Mallory of Ashland, VA and Evola Hawks of Mount Airy, NC; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 11 at 7:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Calling hours will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA on Thursday, January 18 at 9:00 AM.
