Thirza Kahl, age 84, of Whiting died Friday, January 1 at Community Memorial Hospital in Toms River. Born at Brindle Lake, NJ, she was a resident of Whiting for the past 13 years and formerly of New Egypt. Thirza was a member of the American Legion Post 455 Auxiliary in New Egypt and earlier in her life worked at Atlantic Products in Trenton. Wife of the late William T. Kahl; she is survived by a son, Irvin Carter and wife Barbara of New Egypt; a daughter, Diane Hurley and husband Frank of New Egypt; two sisters, Marie Decker of New Egypt and Mabel Wilson of Hamilton Twp.; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5 at 12:00 Noon at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
