Fred E. Jacobs, age 66, of Cream Ridge died Thursday, July 2 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Newark, he had been a resident here for the past 33 years and formerly of Elizabeth. Fred was employed as a fork lift operator at Coca Cola in Hightstown and was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in New Egypt. Son of the late Norman and Rose Louise Jacobs, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janet (nee Niebergall) Jacobs; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Andrea Jacobs of Old Bridge; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Michael Steen of New Egypt and Veronica and Andrew Bassett of Rockaway; two brothers, Joseph Piccolella of Parsippany and Dennis Roberts of New Jersey; two sisters, Betty Cantelmo of Hollywood, FL and Norma Schuhalter of Lanoka Harbor; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6 at 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with Father Joseph Farrell, officiating. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
