Obituary of Frank M. Cibrian

Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frank M. Cibrian, 51, of Burlington Township, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, with his son Nicholas by his side. Frank was born on December 11, 1972, in South Amboy, NJ, the son of Jack and Carol Cibrian. Frank grew up in Sayreville, where he graduated from Sayreville War Memorial High School in 1991. He continued his education at Rowan University, where he met his future wife, Marita, and earned a degree in Business. Frank and Marita married in 2001, and during their seven years of marriage, they had two wonderful children, Nicholas and Ava. For the last six years Frank worked as a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service in Burlington, where he was well respected by his co-workers.  Frank was passionate about sports and was an avid Gonzaga Bulldogs and New York Yankees fan. However, Frank’s biggest sports love was his Pittsburgh Steelers. When he was only four years old, Frank knew the names of all the Steelers players, and this devotion never wavered. He watched every Steelers game while wearing their jersey, and he live tweeted about the games on social media. Also, Frank enjoyed watching March Madness. Frank passed on this passion of sports to his son and loved attending Nicholas’ youth sports games. Because of this sports enthusiasm, Frank was a featured guest every week on a sports podcast and was asked for his commentary and opinions on the week’s events. Frank not only loved the thrill of sports, but he also loved the thrill of gambling, visiting the local Atlantic City casinos and trying his luck on the slot machines. Frank loved pop culture and was a big movie and music buff. Frank’s son Nicholas would often test his father’s film knowledge by texting him a movie quote, but Frank was never stumped. On the holidays, Frank and his brother Jack would ask movie trivia questions to one another. Frank would always know the answers. For the past few Christmas evenings, Frank and his brother would pick a classic film for the younger relatives to watch and appreciate. Frank loved mob movies, but looking at his DVD collection, one would notice Frank’s love of classic 80s comedies as well, particularly ones starring Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Rodney Dangerfield, John Candy, and Chevy Chase. Much of Frank’s music taste revolved around the 80s, too. His favorite groups were AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, and Motley Crue. Frank would listen to music in his car while having his favorite drink, Dunkin Donuts coffee. Frank leaves behind his two children, Nicholas and Ava Cibrian; his father Jack Cibrian; his mother Carol Cibrian; his brother Jack Cibrian (Kelly); and the mother of his children and friend, Marita Cibrian (Ron). A celebration of life for Frank will be held on Sunday, December 15th at Villa Mannino located at 73 US-130 Bordentown, NJ from 12 Noon until 4 PM. Memorial donations in Frank’s memory may be directed to the Eden Autism Services in Princeton https://edenautism.org/ways-to-give/.
