Obituary of Jeffrey A. Rechtsteiner

Jeffrey A. “JR” Rechtsteiner, 70, of New Egypt, passed away on July 4, 2024 in Pennington, NJ. He was born in Neptune, NJ to Charles W. and Arline Rechtsteiner (nee Woolley) January 30, 1954. After Jeff graduated from Princeton High School, he started his career as a Carpenter for Snedeker & Sons. He went on to become a Security Operations Manager for the State of New Jersey and retired in 2020 after 35 years.
Jeff was a volunteer for both the West Windsor Fire Company #1 and Twin “W” First Aid Squad for fifteen years. He loved music and DJ’d until the 90’s. He carried his knowledge of sound to help the Praise Team at New Egypt United Methodist Church. JR also served as a Trustee (NEUMC) and volunteered with the Good Samaritan Food Pantry until recently. He led a life of service and was willing to help anyone who needed assistance. Trains were a hobby that he could enjoy with his family and his love of travel.
Jeff was predeceased by his parents, brother Bruce Rechtsteiner, and niece Heidi Rechtsteiner. He is survived by his loving wife Patty of 32 years and son Daniel, a sister Lynne (Robert) Wolf - FL and sister-in-law Cheryl Rechtsteiner - IN, mother-in-law Jean Killmer - NJ, brothers-in-law Ted Killmer - CT, and Bruce (Estela) Killmer - NJ. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their families:

A memorial service in his honor will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 2:00pm at Atkinson Hall, New Egypt United Methodist Church, Fort Ave. New Egypt. Memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry, 38 North Main St., New Egypt, NJ 08533 or the charity of your choice. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt, NJ.
