Obituary of Barbara A Holloway-Blanda

Barbara A. (Conk) Holloway-Blanda, age 79, died peacefully June 17, 2024 in Midlothian, Virginia. She was born October 9, 1944 at Dr. Farmer’s hospital in Allentown, New Jersey. Barbara was a long-time resident of New Egypt, New Jersey but spent her last few years closer to family in Richmond, Virginia.
Many area residents would remember Barbara for her years of employment as a school bus driver for Plumsted Township and a member of New Egypt UMC. In her younger years, Barbara also enjoyed traveling with family to many areas of the country. She was an avid reader and participated in some “serious” games of cards. Barbara was blessed with two loves in her life but widowed first in 1980 by husband Edward F. Holloway, Jr. and then, again, in 2019 by husband John Blanda.
She was also predeceased by her parents Bob and Eva Conk, brother, Terry Lee Conk and grandson, Zachary Snyder. She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Snyder (Michael) and Cheryl Gruca (Andy) and her grandchildren, Elizabeth Weingarten (Jordan), Michael Snyder Jr. (Jennifer), Jenna Snyder (Zachary), Jordan Snyder (Sandra), Kyle Gruca (Rebekah) and Casey Wayne (Josh). Barbara was also stepmother to John Blanda Jr. (Amanda), JoAnn Isom (Perez), Jill Bauerle (Don) and Jackie Jackson (Ken). She is the sister of Bob Conk Jr. (MaryAnn) and Gary Conk Sr., (Pamela), and sister-in-law to Donna Conk (Terry). Barbara’s family tree also included many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Barbara will be brought home and laid to rest in New Jersey, where a private family service will
be celebrated at a future date.
