Robert B. “Bob” Tilghman, Sr., age 88, longtime resident of Whiting, formerly of New Egypt, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at AristaCare at Whiting in Manchester, Twp. He was born on July 7, 1935 in Allentown, NJ to the late Clarence and Beatrice (nee Bell) Tilghman. Bob was a foreman for Millstone Township Public Works. He was also a foreman at Challender Fuel & Oil and Meenan Oil both in New Egypt. Bob was a member of the New Egypt Elks Lodge #2457, where he was the first exalted ruler. He enjoyed going hunting and taking trips to Atlantic City. Bob was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend that will be deeply missed. Bob is predeceased by his beloved wife Diane (nee Young) Tilghman; his parents, Clarence and Bea Tilghman; and his brother Kenneth Tilghman. He leaves behind his three children, Robert Tilghman, Jr. and wife Judy of Whiting, Theresa Tilghman of Trenton, and Pamela Tilghman of Atlantic City; three grandchildren, Stacey, Tanya, and Helaina; four great-grandchildren, Faith, Aiden, Jase, and Colton; and his two siblings, Ronald Tilghman and wife Patty of New Egypt, ad Carol Hearne and husband Gil of New Egypt; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Bob on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11 AM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with burial to follow at Bordentown Cemetery located at 210 Crosswicks Road, Bordentown, NJ 08505. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be me made in Bob’s name to the New Egypt Elks Lodge #2457 located at 105 Lakewood Road New Egypt, NJ 08533.
