Eugene G. Stravinsky, age 91, passed away on Wednesday January 10, 2024 at The Residence at Stafford. He was born November 13, 1932 to the late George and Anna (Mackalonis) Stravinsky. He was a long-time resident of North Hanover Twp, NJ. Eugene was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and member of the American Legion, Post 455 New Egypt. Following honorable discharge, Eugene became a lineman for Jersey Central Power and Light, working his way to Chief Lineman. He retired from the company after 38 years. During the 1970's, Eugene was an avid owner/trainer of standardbred racehorses. After retirement, his interests shifted to joining the Advantage Financial stock car racing crew. He enjoyed mechanical tasks and had a How-to book for everything he wanted to build or repair. Eugene is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Marie M (Rhodes) Stravinsky of North Hanover Twp., NJ (currently residing at The Residence at Stafford); his 2 sons, Eugene G. Stravinsky II and wife Jeanette of North Hanover Twp., Bruce J. Stravinsky and wife Sharon of Kentucky; his 6 grandchildren Eugene G. Stravinsky III (NJ), Jennifer Wheeler and husband, Ryan (NJ), Adam Stravinsky and wife Jennifer (FL), Amanda Burton and husband Joshua (TN), Austin Stravinsky and wife Heather (KY), Alan Stravinsky and fiancé Mattea (OH); and 4 great grandchildren Jocelyn, Niamh, Huxton and Robert. Funeral arrangements for Eugene are private at the convenience of the family. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman's Funeral Home located in New Egypt, NJ.
