In loving memory of Lori Zuckowich Brandl 1959-2023 Lori Zuckowich Brandl, age 64, a lifelong New Egypt resident passed away February 23, 2023 at the University of Pennsylvania. She was born February 3rd, 1959 in Trenton, New Jersey to John Alec Zuckwich and Mary Ellen (nee Swaim) both of New Egypt. She attended New Egypt Elementary and Allentown High School before briefly moving to Richmond, Virginia where she married and had her daughter Megan. When she returned to New Egypt, she had worked many different jobs such as Jamesway and Tri-boro Electric in Hightstown, Cream Ridge Animal Clinic as a vet tech, a secretary at Corona Truss Frames Manufacturing in Columbus as well as Maranatha Stairs in New Egypt. She was raised by her grandparents Frank Delaney Swaim and Mary Ella (nee Beecher) as well as her parents and Aunt Grace Guenther (nee Swaim) in the Presbyterian faith. Her upbringing helped her develop a lifelong passion for learning about her spirituality and being a kind compassionate person helping many others through her life. She loved growing up in Central New Jersey on Family Farms growing and picking veggies, and her grandfather Frank swings Cranberry Bogs in Bamber and spending time on the beach. Whether she was helping to raise her nephews and niece or her in-laws and their children, she always did it wholeheartedly. She raised her daughter Megan Brandl, with her partner Salvador, with the same convictions of faith, helping others, caring for animals and learning to enjoy nature. Lori had a knack for making gemstone jewelry, a passion for reading, gardening and visiting historical towns and landmarks. She loved being around in the fields of wildflowers and butterflies. Her most proud achievements was helping raise and watching her grandsons Juan (Johnny) Martinez and Joshua Caleb Martinez grow up to be kind, intelligent young men and help guide them along to their life path. She was so proud of all that they have accomplished. She loved sharing her love of wild life with her grandchildren and her passion for saving homeless and injured cats, bunnies and birds. She was a loving mother, grandmother and partner who was taken too soon after lifelong battle of many illnesses. She is hoping that through her passing she was able to help give the Researchers and Doctors at the University of Pennsylvania and Gift of Life, a chance at finding the illnesses she suffered from as well as offering hope to others. She wanted more than anything to be able to leave a positive memory of helping and kindness as she slipped away from us. Lori is predeceased by her parents; her aunts, Grace Swaim Guenther, and Helen Zuckowich Kennet; her siblings, Ellen Kovacs Brindley (nee Zuckowich) and husband, and John Frank Zuckowich and wife. She leaves behind her only child Megan Brandl, and her children Juan and Joshua Martinez all of Cream Ridge; as well as her partner of 37 years Salvador Morfin. Her nephews John Frank Zuckowich Jr of Trenton, his daughter's Samantha and Katherine Zuckowich, Christopher and sons Peter, Christopher, and Nicholas and his wife Dana of Roebling. Sean Kovacs and children Tyler and Brittany Kovacs and Edward Brindley III of Oklahoma. Her nieces, Christine Hernandez and children Antonio and Queenie of Toms River, and Tara DiGuilio and her daughters Leyna and Aaliyah of Pennsylvania. As well as several cousins and ex-husband Howard Brandl of Cream Ridge. She leaves lifelong friends Kathy Dunn Clark and Kim Van Hise Dimitruk. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Fee and Thomas as well pups Toby Mac and Matilda Mae. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Lori on Saturday, March 4, 2023 12 PM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with interment to follow at Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery located at 49 Jacobstown-Arneytown Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Calling hours will be held the morning of March 4, 2023 at the funeral home from 10 AM to 12 PM.
