Jim was one of the kindest, dear, loving people I will ever know. Jim takes a piece of my heart with him. Being in Jim's life for 40 years was such a blessing in my life. I was blessed to share three wonderful sons, now men, with Jim. He was a wonderful father and loved being a father. His "boys" were his life. His sons are so blessed to have had Jim as their father.
He was kind to all he knew and if Jim was your friend, you had a friend for life. He was loyal, funny, sympathetic, and could he keep a confidence. He enjoyed a good meal. He loved his grandmother's cheesecake, my carrot cake, apple pie, and cottage cheese with strawberry jam on top. He was a coffee drinker and enjoyed it fresh ground especially the southern pecan flavor.
Jim was an avid sports fan. A die hard New England Patriots fan from the time they were an expansion team, he liked the New York Islanders as well. Jim knew something about every and any sport. From golf to hockey he knew sports. He enjoyed watching a good tv show as well. If you were going through a rough time or a crisis, Jim was your rock. An accomplished musician and vocalist, Jim, his dear father John and brother Gary would sing while Jim played the piano. It would bring tears to your eyes to hear the three Conover men vocalize and play together.
My life has been enriched on so many levels by being allowed to be in Jm's life. I will miss him forever and he will always have a piece of my heart. Thank you Jim for our sons, the laughter & joy, and the kindness. God took you from us all too soon. Be at peace and without pain.
Love forever,
Patti (Patricia Ann / Blue)
