Obituary of Robert E. Bryant
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert “Bob” Bryant, age 82, of New Egypt, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in May of 1938 to the late Arthur and Etta Lou Bryant in Lancaster, Kentucky. After graduating from Lancaster High School, Bob served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years. Upon arriving at McGuire AFB, he met and married his wife Janice in 1960 and the couple settled in New Egypt.
Bob retired from the Army Airforce Exchange after 35 years where he met and made many lifelong friends. Bob was a long time Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren (often acting like the biggest kid of them all) and never went anywhere that he didn’t “bump into” someone he knew. He was a member of the Plumsted Township Police Department for 21 years and a long-standing member and elder of the Plumsted Presbyterian Church. He will always be remembered for his wholehearted “Bob Bryant bear hugs.”
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years Janice Bryant of New Egypt; their daughter Donna Winkowski and her husband Ray of Chesterfield, New Jersey and his much-loved grandchildren, Collin, Lauren and Nicole. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends who will all miss him and were blessed to be a part of his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 5PM to 7PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 7PM. Interment is going to be held private at the convenience of the family.
