Obituary of Robert Aquilino
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Aquilino, age 75, of Lakewood, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. He was born in Orange, New Jersey to the late Bernard ‘Charlie’ and Hellen Aquilino on September 6, 1945. After high school, Robert was drafted into the Army and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967. Later in life, when he wasn’t at work in a courtroom or on his computer, he was spending time with his family, or working on his house. He would seldom use the correct tool for the projects he was doing, but somehow always seemed to make it work. He loved the sun and being at the beach. He rarely complained when it was too hot out, but always complained he was cold. Robert loved espresso, coffee, and going to his favorite restaurant in Newark, Fornos of Spain, every Friday night with his best friends for as long as anyone can remember. He always looked forward to his annual Valentine’s Day dinner with his granddaughter, Giovanna. From the beginning to the end, Robert was loved by anyone and everyone that was fortunate enough to know him. Humbly, he was always willing to provide his time and support to those he loved. Robert was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, companion, and dear friend who will be deeply missed.
Robert is predeceased by his parents; and by his two sisters, Linda and Marie. He leaves behind those who he loved most; Matthew, Danielle, Tara, Phil, Ava, Giovanna, Robert, his soon-to-be granddaughter, and his companion through life, Lorrie. He was loved by his brother Carl and his sister in-law Margaret, and his many nieces and nephews. When Robert spoke of his family, it would extend much further than those who shared his blood. Robert has always considered Bob, Don, and Jack, his childhood friends of over 60 years, his family.
