Mary Tokash, age 94, of Cream Ridge, formally from Kerhonkson, NY, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020 peacefully at home. She was born on July 19, 1925 in Manhattan, NY to the late Konstantine and Mary (nee Bojko) Medvecky. Mary worked as a clerk for MetLife in Manhattan. In 1946, she married the love of her life Steve Tokash. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Kerhonkson. Mary loved singing in the choir, cooking, and playing bingo. She was always there to help other people in their time of need and always put others before herself. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend that will be deeply missed.
Mary is predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband Steve Tokash; her five siblings, Peter, Michael, Nicholas, Julia, and Ann; and a granddaughter-in-law, Betina Tokash. She leaves behind her daughter, Barbara H. Kynik and husband Orest of Jacobstown, NJ; her son Stephen J. Tokash and wife Anne of Glendale, NY; her five grandchildren, Christine Kressel and husband Matthew, Steven Tokash, Julie Capritto and husband Joseph, Nadia Burger and husband Joseph, and Stephen Kynik and significant other Deanna Kissel; her five great-grandchildren, Leonardo Capritto, Daniella Capritto, Ayden Burger, Khloe Burger, and Giana Burger; her brother-in-law Michael Hraboweckyj of Kerhonkson, NY; her dear friend Della Hurley of Cream Ridge; her primary caregiver Yammy ; many nieces and nephews and her great-grand dogs, Spunky, Miller and Zoey.
Due to current restrictions, funeral services and burial for Mary in Kerhonkson, NY are being held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary’s name to Our Lady of Lourdes Church Choir located at 12446 US-209, Kerhonkson, NY 12446. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home located at, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ, 08533.
