Obituary of Margaret E. Twigg
Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret E. Twigg, 78, joined her beloved husband, James R. Twigg to walk in fields of gold on April 25, 2020.
Margaret was born on June 30, 1941 to Helen and George Burkley of Bordentown, New Jersey. While residing in Bordentown, she worked at NWL Transformers alongside her husband, James, until their retirement. They enjoyed many beautiful years together. Upon his passing, she relocated to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and George Walton. While there, she enjoyed the warm weather and calm ocean breeze while relaxing on the porch of their home. After many years enjoying the Outer Banks, Margaret, along with her daughter and son-in-law were eager to join her grandchildren in Raleigh, North Carolina and just recently moved to that area. Margaret cherished her time with family, shopping, playing board games, reading, birdwatching and enjoyed spoiling her dogs, Chance and Chloe.
Margaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and George Walton, of Raleigh, North Carolina, her son Edward Gaynor, Jr. and his wife, Meg of Bordentown, New Jersey, her grandchildren, Meagan Walton, Lauren Walton Sharpless and her husband, Carlas Sharpless of Raleigh, North Carolina. Her cousin, James Hensley, whom she loved like a brother along with many special nieces, nephew and cousins.
Margaret will be interred alongside her husband, James, at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey. A private celebration of her life and internment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Margaret's name can be made to the National Council on Aging, 251 18th Street South, Arlington, VA 22202 (www.ccoa.org/get-involved/give/)
