Joseph F. Preston, Jr., age 72, of Wrightstown died Tuesday, August 28 at his residence. Born in Providence, RI, he had been a resident of Wrightstown since 1967 and had previously lived in Germany for 8 years. Joe was a retired Flight Chief (CMSgt) with the Air Force at McGuire AFB. He served 25 years, with service during the Korean and Viet Nam wars. He was also a retired Corrections Officer for the State of New Jersey in Trenton. Joe was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and Jesters, all in Burlington and also was a member of the VFW Post 6590 in Cookstown and the Wrightstown Vol. Fire Co. Joe is survived by his wife of 49 years, Hilde Preston; a daughter and son-in-law, Karin and Robert Trasferini of Ventnor, NJ; three grandchildren, Shannon, Helena and Jack, three great grandchildren, Angelo, Michael and Joseph and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours for Joe will be held on Wednesday, September 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). VFW services will be held at 8:00 PM. Funeral and interment services will military honors will be held on Friday, September 7 at 1:30 PM at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road in Wrightstown.
