I am so saddened by the loss of Ernie. I am so thankful for the time we shared together in his final home in Maple Shade. Ernie’s smile and genuine character shined right through his illness. His heart was kind and his stature was humble. I will never forget meeting him for the first time wearing his New York Yankees jacket in the hallway at The Palace. He spoke of the day Elvis died and the spot where he was on that day in southern Virginia, just south of where I grew up near Richmond. We shared small stories of our lives. He loved chocolate. He smiled when the pretty nurse from C wing would walk by. He learned a small Vietnamese expression he could use when she would walk by. Lastly I am so thankful for the last time I spent with Ernie, sitting in his room, on the bed next to each other, proclaiming the goodness and blessings of God. I salute you Ernie. May God look with favor upon your soul, and may you rest in the peaceful presence of our glorious Creator, the almighty and everlasting Lord our God, singing praises to His name; for you shall not perish, but rather inherent joy in abundance in Heaven above for all time; may I be worthy to share a spot by your side when my days are done and I am called to that eternal resting place; Chao Nguoi Dep. Chao Nguoi Dep. Chao Nguoi Dep. We love you. Jeff & Kim
