Claire Anna (nee Kappel) Zoll, age 87, of Lumberton, NJ died peacefully Friday, February 26, 2010 at home with her loving husband by her side. Claire was born in Gloucester City, NJ and lived in Jacobstown, NJ before moving to Lumberton in 1961. She was a graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School Class of 1940. Claire worked in the NY Shipyard from 1943 to 1947 as the companies Women?s Councilor and arbitrator between NY Shipyard and the Union CIO. She also was the Food Activity Manager at Fort Dix during the Vietnam War. She enjoyed surf fishing, playing the organ, gardening, animals of all sorts and time with her family. Claire was predeceased by her parents Elwood and Margaret (nee Faber) Kappel, her brother George Kappel and her grandson Jason Karpiak. She is survived by her loving husband, Russell Zoll; a son, James Karpiak of Jacobstown; a daughter, Sandra Schmidt and husband Rick of Browns Mills and a brother, John ?Jack? Kappel and wife Jane of Westmont. Funeral services for Claire will be held on Tuesday, March 2 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
