Obituary of Patrick G. Malloy

Patrick G. Malloy, age 82, of Cookstown passed away Wednesday, April 5 at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills. Born on the family farm in Cookstown Pat was a lifetime area resident.
Pat proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a self-employed contractor and also enjoyed farming on the family farm and was very proud of his Irish heritage. Pat served as Mayor in New Hanover Township for 38 years and always helped anyone in town who needed it. He was also an Exempt Member of the Cookstown Vol. Fire Company. Pat enjoyed playing and coaching the Gamecocks softball team in his earlier years. He was very handy and could fix anything. Pat enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his dogs. He was well respected and liked by all who knew him and will be very much missed.
Pat was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Philomena Malloy. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Norma (Ireland) Malloy; two sons, Mark J. Malloy and Patrick C. “Ricky” Malloy and wife Kelly Ann of Cookstown; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donal and Patricia Malloy, Michael and Susan Malloy and Neil and Julie Malloy all of Cookstown; a sister, Eileen Lustgarten of Florida; six grandchildren, Molly Ann Ribavaro, Aubrey Joy Malloy, Sean Patrick Malloy, Ryan Joseph Malloy, Kevin Michael Malloy and Thomas Riley Malloy; a great granddaughter, Karolyn Ann Ribavaro and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Pat will be held on Monday, April 10 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with burial to follow in Assumption Cemetery in New Egypt. Calling hours will be on Sunday evening, April 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
