Barry A. Desmarais, age 52, of Browns Mills died Sunday, July 8 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Warwick, Rhode Island, he had lived in Browns Mills since 1974. Barry was employed as a police officer, with the rank of Sergeant with the State of NJ, Department of Human Services at Marlboro, Hagedorn and Trenton. He started his police career with the South Belmar Police Department. Barry was a member of the PBA #113 and the FOP #108. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest R.F. Desmarais, Sr., a brother, Brian E. Desmarais and a sister, Robin A. Bessire. Barry is survived by his wife, Sharon (nee Ferrara) Desmarais; three children, Sheri L. Desmarais & family, Randy A. Desmarais and Andrew A. Desmarais, all of Browns Mills; a grandson, William Vandergrift; his mother, Shirley Desmarais of Sierra Vista, AZ; three brothers, Ernest R.F. Desmarais, Jr. and Timothy E. Desmarais both of Sierra Vista, AZ and Daniel A. Desmarais of Austin, TX and three sisters, Gail D. Desmarais of Sierra Vista, AZ, Darleen A. Archer of Pemberton and Bonnie E. Desmarais of Sierra Vista, AZ. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 11 at 12:00 Noon at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt.
