Obituary of Bernard J. Koveleski

Bernard J. Koveleski, age 61, of New Egypt died Friday, May 9 at University Hospital in Newark, NJ. Born in Trenton, he was a lifetime area resident. Bernard was a 1972 graduate of Allentown, NJ High School and was employed in the road construction division of the Walter Earle Company in Wall, NJ. He was a proud member of the New Egypt United Methodist Church, he enjoyed cars and racing, music, especially Elvis Presley, but the most important thing to Bernard was his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Katherine and John Koveleski, Sr. and by a sister, Rosemary Hurley. Bernard is survived by his wife, Debra Locklear; a daughter and her companion, Melody Koveleski and Daniel Vazquez of Forked River; two grandchildren, Emily Fisk and Ethan Koveleski; a sister, Alice Lewis and companion Don Early of Cream Ridge; two brothers, John Koveleski Jr. and wife Diane of Jackson and Patrick Koveleski of Little Egg Harbor; a step-brother, Douglas Allen and wife Debby of Wagener, SC; his step-mother, Caroline Koveleski of Wagener, SC and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services for Bernard will take place on Wednesday, May 14 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt with Pastor Dorothy Johns officiating (www.tilghmanfh.com). Calling hours will be on Tuesday evening, May 13 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home with a prayer service at 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bernard’s memory may be made to the New Egypt United Methodist Church, 38 North Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
