Lillian E. Young, age, 82, of North Hanover Twp. died Saturday, April 6 surrounded by her family at the Mercerville Center in Mercerville. Born in Newark, NJ, she was a longtime area resident. Lillian had worked as an inspector the Monsanto Company in Yardville. She was a member of the American Legion Post 455 Auxiliary in New Egypt, the VFW Auxiliary in New Egypt and a member of the New Egypt Elkmates Lodge 2457 and she was an Elkmate of the Year. Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Richard “Dick” Young; a grandson, Steven Reid and by her siblings, Gertrude Dougherty, Helen LaFrenier, Dorothy Conkling and James, William, Kenneth and Francis Schiele. She is survived by her children, Richard Young, Jr. and wife Darlene of New Egypt, Linda Reid and husband Edward of Allentown, Teresa Nixon and husband Robert of Cream Ridge and Thomas Young and wife Jeannette of New Egypt; seven grandchildren, Patricia Kelley of Florence, Kimberly Reid of Olympia, WA, Scott Reid of Allentown, Danielle Young and fiancé Christopher Curnow of New Egypt, Shannon Young of New Egypt, Robert Nixon, Jr. of Cream Ridge and Zachary Young of New Egypt; two great grandchildren, Stephanie and Mackenzie Kelley of Florence; three sisters, Ruth Steel and Evelyn Mihm both of West Palm Beach, FL and Mary Jane Decker of Palm Bay, FL and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian will be held on Friday, April 12 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562 with interment to follow at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. Family and friends may call on Thursday evening, April 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com).
