Obituary of Frances M. Jackson

Frances McDonald Mills Jackson, age 79, of Whiting, NJ died Sunday, May 13 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born on February 26, 1933 in Archer, FL, she was a resident of Jacksonville, Macclenny & Merritt Island FL, Valdosta, GA, Okinowa, Japan, Manassas, VA, Cookstown, NJ and then Whiting for the past 12 years.
Frances attended Landon High School in Jacksonville, FL and graduated from Macclenny-Glen High School in Florida as valedictorian. She graduated from Florida State University in Tallahassee with a degree in Library Science.
Frances joined South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church as a teenager and later was a member of the Methodist Church and loved to sing in the choir. She was a member of the AFSA, the VFW in Cookstown, the McGuire AFB Enlisted Spouses Club and was a volunteer for Family Services at McGuire AFB in New Jersey. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and daughter.
Frances was predeceased by her parents, James Raymond and Alice Bradford McDonald Mills and by a brother, Raymond Bradford Mills. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clyde W. Jackson, Sr.; a son, Clyde W. Jackson, Jr. of Warminster, PA; a daughter, Emma Louise Jackson Crossley and husband John of Dover, PA; two granddaughters, Mary and Alison; a sister, Marjorie Mills Ramseur and husband David of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Albert Winston Mills and wife Peggy of Hochton, GA; a sister-in-law, Marian Mills of Jacksonville, FL; a brother-in-law, Robert Jackson of Andover, NY; a niece, Katherine Vogel; three nephews, David Ramseur, Michael Mills and Wayne Mills; two great nephews, Ryan and Ethan Vogel; a great niece, Katherine Vogel; an aunt, Norma Mills Oliver of Alabama and many cousins.
Funeral and interment services for Frances will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08533.
