Obituary of Roseann M. Snody

Roseann Marie (nee Havens) Snody, age 72, of Wrightstown died Sunday, June 26 at home. Born in Cookstown, she was a lifetime New Egypt area resident.
Roseann had worked as a home health aide for Ocean County. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in New Egypt and was past president of the Rosary Altar Society. Roseann belonged to the New Egypt PTA and was a member of the Cookstown Fire Co. Auxiliary. She enjoyed Bingo and loved to crochet and make blankets as gifts to many people.
But she will be most remembered for her constant support of Veteran?s organizations. She was a life member and past president of the American Legion Unit 455 in New Egypt and past county president of the Ocean County American Legion Auxiliary. She was past president of the VFW Unit 599 in New Egypt, a member of the Cookstown VFW #6590 and also was a member and past Chapeau of the Salon 8 & 40 of Ocean County.
Roseann was predeceased by her husband, Myron E. Snody in 1987 and a granddaughter, Crystal Leigh Snody in 2008. She is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Chester Leo and Debra Snody of Hampton, VA and David and Douglas Snody of Wrightstown; a daughter and son-in-law, Clara and Wayne Rose of New Egypt; her loving grandchildren, Zach Rose and Shelby Kisner; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and dear friends including her lifelong friend, Dorothy Wagar of Wrightstown.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Roseann will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption Chapel, 76 Evergreen Road in New Egypt, with Father Joseph Farrell officiating. Burial will follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Calling hours will be on Wednesday evening, June 29 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with American Legion services at 6:00 PM.
